Speed Development

In today's day and age, speed is king. It seems like every year the athletes are getting faster and stronger. So how do you as a coach help your athletes develop speed?

One way to develop speed is through sprinting drills. Drills such as high knees, butt kicks, and carioca are great for developing leg speed and quickness. Another way to develop speed is through plyometric exercises. Exercises such as box jumps, jump squats, and medicine ball throws are great for developing explosive power.

As a coach, it is important to understand the different ways to help your athletes develop speed. By utilizing sprinting drills and plyometric exercises, you can help your athletes take their game to the next level.
